I grew up on Sherman Avenue (112&132) during the 40's,50's and 60's. There were nine of us. My time was the 50's and 60's. I can still remember the stick ball games, sherman vs academy or sherman vs 207th & vermilyea, Moe was good man. Every once in while he would give me tickets he purchased for the golden gloves at St. Judes. Some of the stickball players I remember were Jimmy Quinn, Craig, Billy Kearney, Johnny Friscatti, the grahams, Pete Campbell (me brother), the Graces from academy, Willy Verrstandik (spelled wrong,)Paddy Carson, and there were so many more. Simple times, great rivalries, but most of all great friends while growing up. As we grew older stickball moved to the PS52 for great softball and stickball games and we all started to move on and hang around with many great and different crowds throughout Inwood. Ah! thems were the days. Joey Campbell
