I preferred Riverside Park. I lived on the corner of 135th St.
and Riverside Drive from 1946 to 1965. Had lots of fun as a
youngster playing in the park between 135th & 138th St. When
I got older, my friends and I would ride our bikes all the way
up to the GW bridge (and sometimes across the GW into Jersey),
or all the way down to 72nd St. In our late teens, we ventured
a lot further, pedaling as far upriver as Beacon NY on camping
trips on the East side of the Hudson, and to Bear Mountain on
the West side. I don't know how safe it is to do that now, but
we sure had great times then!!!
