Central Park is celebrating it's 150th birthday. As kids we just went to the "park" did not even realize how famous this park was.
Our mothers would take us "up the hill" where the day was spent roller skating, bike riding, running and playing. Bag lunches were the lunch and the mothers enjoyed it more than we did because they would sit and have their social time with all the ladies from the neighborhood. The men would come after work and play shuffle board and horeshoes and the equipment for them was in a big green wooden box with no lock on it and that went on for years and years.
